American actress Scarlett Johansson opened up that some other actress was cast to play Natasha Romanoff however, she did not accept the role owing to some schedule conflict. The Black Widow actress said Marvel Studio gave her the offer for the second time and she grabbed it at once as a lifetime opportunity.

The 36-year-old actress played the role of superspy, also known as Black Widow, in her first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. She played Natasha in Iron Man 2 more than ten years ago and continued to reprise her role in numerous Marvel films.

Scarlett Johansson was originally cast to perform in a fewer number of movies but her super-assassin role got instant popularity and was loved by movie buffs.  Hence, Marvel Studio continued casting her in different superhero movies, including The Avengers, two of the Captain America films, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and a mid-credits appearance in Captain Marvel.

Scarlett Johansson said she was a great fan of Marvel superheroes. “I was a big fan of the first Iron Man. And I wanted to work with Jon [Favreau] and Robert [Downey Jr.] and then I did not get the role and I was pretty bummed about that, happens all the time,” said the Black Widow actress in an interview with BBC Radio 1.

“Then, I fatefully–several weeks later, the actor who was cast in the role originally was not able to do it because of a scheduling conflict. So, Jon called me and we met again and I said, ‘Yes, I’m extremely available still.’”

Scarlett Johansson offered some practical wisdom to the budding artists, saying, “If anybody ever asks me about what advice I have to other actors who are trying to make it I say, ‘Every opportunity is an opportunity to work, and you’ll never get a better call than when you thought you lost a job then got it.’”

“I was so excited to have a second chance at it,” she added.
