A vacant Moscow-bound Air India flight came back to Delhi when it developed that its pilot tried had positive for the coronavirus, sources said.

Test outcomes came after departure and the pilot was educated halfway through the flight, they said.

Mapping by FlightRadar24 shows that AI 1945 turned around course while flying in Uzbek airspace.

The flight was a piece of India’s Vande Bharat strategic, repatriation practice intended to help Indians abandoned abroad during the coronavirus pandemic travel home.
